Stardancer Faculty

Janice and David Jenkins are the co-owners and Directors of Jenkins Dance & Gymnastics Center in Claremont NH and Stardancer Studios in Newport NH.

They are members of Dance Masters of America, Dance Teachers Club of Boston and USA Gymnastics. Together they ran the Performing Arts Program at Stevens High School from 2001 to 2014.

The Jenkins grew up and trained in the Boston area and had Dance Studios in Peabody and Lynnfield Ma before moving to N.H.  They danced professionally together for several years as an adagio team prior to opening their schools. They also taught and performed on many cruise ships traveling both to Europe and the Caribbean. In addition to teaching, they have done choreography for local Theatre Companies. Some of the musicals include “Bye Bye Birdie”, “Lil Abner” , Pajama Game”, “Oliver”, “Grease”, “Working”, “Annie Get Your Gun”, and “Cinderella”.

The Jenkins bring years of experience to their programs and choose their Staff with great care. They consider all of the students to be part of their “dance family” and feel that positive life lessons are being taught at each class. They continue to attend Dance Conventions and USA Gymnastics Seminars in order to remain up to date and provide the best program possible to their students and community.
